Jeanne responded, "The happiness dance?"
And I said, "Yes! The transcripts are all done!"
I don't know how many secretaries/administrative assistants do things like this, but this is totally who I am. I'm sitting here thinking to myself, "What else did I do yesterday at work?"
I know what I did. I sent an email to all graduated senior students and their parents letting them know that the transcripts were sent out. That will save lots of phone calls. This time of year we always get tons of calls from students and their parents telling us that their colleges want their transcripts. Now they all know that they have been sent out. Yay!
I know I had lunch. Spoke with Eva-Marie on the phone about the bubble on the bureau. She called the company that manufactures that paint that I used (and love), and they're stumped too. This is their recommendation: Sand the top down to bare wood (don't make it too smooth), paint with an oil-based primer (Eva-Marie's favorite: Zinsser), but we have some leftover Kilz, so I'll use that. Then re-coat in an hour. So, that's what I'm going to do this morning. Eva-Marie also asked me questions such as: Did you take the drawers out to allow the air to circulate? Yes. Is the humidity over 70%? No, the dehumidifier is set at 60%.

| If you look closely, you can see Lovey sleeping on the floor and Xenny sleeping on the wood stove (they're almost identical twin sisters. Erin brought them over for Sofia and Peter many years ago.) |
I called Dr. Colsen's office to find out how the blood work to test for gout came out. He said it was perfect, one of the best results he's ever seen. So my toe problem is not caused by gout. I'm really happy about that, but back to the drawing board to figure out why my toe hurts. It'll get better, I know.
But back to yesterday. I got trained on how to register a student in Power School. It's easy. It's Internet-based. And then it was time to go home.
When I got home, I said to myself, "My car is really dirty. I'm going to clean it." I dumped all my stuff in the house, changed, and went outside...I washed the windows on the inside, cleaned everything out of my car, vacuumed, and then washed it. I'm so glad that it's a small car :). While I was doing that, I also did the wash, hanging some things on the line and drying others in the drier. You want to hear a cute drier story? Here goes:
When my children were little, the drier broke; and we couldn't afford to buy a new one. I hung cloth diapers on the line for years and years....plus all those cute little children's clothes. Anyway, one day when Sofia was older (may over 8 years old or even 12, I can't remember exactly...although I may have written about this in my journal, but I'm not hunting for that entry now. It's not important) we finally bought a new drier. Sofia was so excited, and she said, "WE GOT A NEW DRYING MACHINE!" She didn't even know that they are called driers.
Anyway, back to yesterday. Our truck is really dirty on the outside (not the inside), so I decided to wash it as well. I put my car in the garage (I had never done that until about a year or two ago because the garage was not an option for me. Mamacita parked her car on one side and Jay on the other. But now I have Mamacia's space since she's moved on to Heaven. I love parking in the garage!). I drove the truck down to where the hose was and started washing. I had to climb up into the bed of the truck to wash the hood. I came out really good, but I missed two spots. I don't know how I did that, but I did. Jay fixed it (what a great guy he is!).
I didn't make a formal dinner. Jay made a sandwich for himself and I ate ice cream (what is it about me and ice cream?). We watched a little TV as I folded the clothes I had washed and then we watched our show, and I promptly fell asleep. When I woke up to go close the chickens and go to bed, I was so tired, physically tired, that I could hardly move. I had never felt like that before. I went outside to close up the chickens and went to bed. I slept like a log until 5:00 this morning (and that's sleeping in for me).
