Day 18

Friday, July 12, 2013. No photos today, but I just changed that because Jay took a photo of Peter and me just now. Here we are! I think it's a good photo. I'm wearing my comfy pajamas that don't really look like pajamas.

Jeanne was on vacation today, so I just worked on things that we talked about yesterday.

Larry and Alexis R. picked me up at work for lunch. I met them on Washington Street because Broadway was closed off because of construction. We were going to eat at the Marina, but they didn't serve lunch until 12:00 and we went earlier than that. So we went over to Old Tymes Restaurant. I was excited because they serve my favorite burger...The Rodney Burger. It's a batter dipped, deep-fat fried hamburger with cheese and a roll and gravy. Yum. I know it sounds horrible, but it's really yummy. Faith T. met us there, and we had a great time :).

Larry and Alexis dropped me off on Washington Street again. I walked across the green and onto Broadway. The construction guys had already stripped the top layer (about 2") of macadam off half the road. The cars stopped for me to cross (since I was in the crosswalk), and I walked across. As I neared the center of the road where the old part of the road met the shaved-off piece, I stepped up, but not up enough, and I tripped and fell on my knees and hands in front of all the cars that were stopped so I could cross. Talk about a little embarrassing. I hopped up, waved to the people waiting for me and said, "I'm okay!" (not that they could hear that), and went back to work. My knee started bleeding, so I went to the nurses' office and got a bandaid.

I worked the rest of the day and got off at 1:45 (it's summer hours...yay!), went home, changed, and went to Rhode Island to meet Peter and to go to the immigration attorney in Providence. We had a good meeting. I took Peter back to his car, we went to get gas, and then to Luigi's to share a sandwich and cheesecake. We had a good time.

We drove home, and I watched the news and am now typing this. Peter wants to talk about his budget and then we're going watch a little TV before going to bed. Tomorrow will be a busy day...it's Alexandra's "28 is the new 18" birthday party. I will take lots of pictures of that. :) She's making her famous moose right now. Nitey-nite.
